Summary:
Personal vendettas, hidden treasure, and a monkey named Carl will send bounty hunter Stephanie Plum on her most explosive adventure yet.
The Crime: Armed robbery to the tune of nine million dollars
Dom Rizzi robbed a bank, stashed the money, and did the time. His family couldn’t be more proud. He always was the smart one.
The Cousin: Joe Morelli
Joe Morelli, Dom Rizzi, and Dom’s sister, Loretta, are cousins. Morelli is a cop, Rizzi robs banks, and Loretta is a single mother waiting tables at the firehouse. The all-American family.
The Complications: Murder, kidnapping, destruction of personal property, and acid reflux
Less than a week after Dom’s release from prison, Joe Morelli has shadowy figures breaking into his house and dying in his basement. He’s getting threatening messages, Loretta is kidnapped, and Dom is missing.
The Catastrophe: Moonman
Morelli hires Walter “Mooner” Dunphy, stoner and “inventor” turned crime fighter, to protect his house. Morelli can’t afford a lot on a cop’s salary, and Mooner will work for potatoes.
The Cupcake: Stephanie Plum
Stephanie and Morelli have a long-standing relationship that involves sex, affection, and driving each other nuts. She’s a bond enforcement agent with more luck than talent, and she’s involved in this bank-robbery-gone-bad disaster from day one.
The Crisis: A favor for Ranger
Security expert Carlos Manoso, street name Ranger, has a job for Stephanie that will involve night work. Morelli has his own ideas regarding Stephanie’s evening activities.
The Conclusion: Only the fearless should read Fourteen.
Thrills, chills, and incontinence may result.

Once again, I turned to Stephanie Plum for some laughs just like I always do.
Stephanie was once again cast into some very dangerous but funny and awkward positions all the way through the book (sometimes occurring at the same time) which made it even more outrageous. I'm telling you these books just keep getting better and better as the series progresses.
Now I'm going to try not to give much away because I know some people haven't read this book in the series yet and its one that though I suppose you don't absolutely have to read them in chronological order, it is my opinion that that's the best way to read them. Therefore I will attempt to make this review as spoiler free as humanly possibly.
For me it was nice to see the old faces like Mooner whom I haven't seen much of in awhile so it was nice of him to be in the story because despite being a stoner...Mooner is awesome! Grandma and Lula got into more trouble (but that's why we love them so much) .
Stephanie also got a nice little surprise but it kept getting passed around until finally it settled on staying with Morelli but you have to read the book to figure out who or what "it" is :) I also like how Ranger was in this book a little more than he was in the book before. Though I'm a confirmed Team Morelli girl, I do enjoy the chemistry between him an Stephanie.
Anyways I really loved this book! It was so good. It had me laughing the whole way through and I really needed it. YOU HAVE TO READ THIS SERIES PEOPLE! There's murder, fire and dismemberment :)Plus innuendos galore! You won't regret reading this installment of Stephanie Plums disasterous life!

I have heard so much about the series, but so far I only managed to read 2 books (I think). Enjoyed them very much. I has been a while though lol. A couple of days ago I read about a movie being made! Then again, I usually prefer the books. This sounds like a fun read!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I'm now following back.
_yay_ @ BookthatThing!
Good review baby, again im team Ranger lol. Seriously though who do you think she will pick at the end? How about a character modeled after Will and he gets stephanie at the end? Always gotta cheer the underdog.
