Have you read The Power of One by Bryce Countney? Out of Africa by Isak Dinesen? White Mischief by James Fox? They're some of my favourite stories set in Africa. It's a major hole in my reading, but I've never read any of the No.1 Ladies... series!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these, but gosh, I LOVE Africa, mainly the animal aspect of it. You should check out IN THE SHADOW OF MAN by Jane Goodall and NEXT OF KIN by Roger Fouts, though the latter doesn't ever take place in Africa, I believe.

Great choice of topic! I've been wanting to read The Fever Tree, still need to get a copy. I just read A Spear of Summer Grass by Deanna Raybourn, which would fit your topic (and was wonderful) too!

I love this topic! I've unfortunately only read one book set in Africa, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency. I loved that book, though, and it made me want to go to Botswana so badly. Have you seen the mini series of that book? It's great!
ReplyDeleteLove your theme. Part Of The Pride looks interesting.

I haven't read any of these, but great setting choice. My favorite book set in Africa is probably The Poisonwood Bible.

I love your theme, one of the most unique ones I've seen today. And the memoir about the banned journalist -- I'm pretty sure Amazon will be shipping that to me by business days end!
