“In her dreams the Hawk would be waiting for her by the sea's edge; her kilt-clad, magnificent Scottish laird. He would smile and his eyes would crinkle, then turn dark with
smoldering passion.
She would take his hand and lay it gently on her swelling abdomen, and his face would blaze with happiness and
pride. Then he would take her gently, there on the cliff's edge, in tempo with the pounding of the ocean. He would
make fierce and possessive love to her and she would hold on to him as tightly as she could. But before dawn, he would melt right through her fingers. And she would wake up, her cheeks wet with tears and her hands clutching nothing but a bit of quilt or pillow.”

I loved that series. i started with her Fever series but completely fell for her writing with this one. I so need to re-read them. It's been ages.
ReplyDeleteI read this one sooo long ago and I liked it but it was one that took me ages to get into but turned out to be really worth it. I still have to read book 2 and have yet to start her Fever series.
DeleteThat's so sweet and so sad. :(
ReplyDeleteIt is, it was one of those quotes that totally pulled at my heartstrings.
DeleteMy sister was completely in love with this series and waited impatiently for each new book. I tried to read the Fever series by the author and ended up pitching the book into the wall in chapter 2. Maybe I should give the author's work a second chance and start this series.
ReplyDeleteI can see why she was in love with it :) I haven't started the Fever series yet but I've heard it can rub people the wrong way at first but you kinda have to stick it out for a bit.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
This wasn't my favorite book of the series, but Grimm.... YUM!!!

Where the Night Kind Roam
I know! Grimm was pretty darn yummy!
DeleteI haven't read this series but the quote is pretty.
ReplyDeleteI think you would like this one Kimberly. It's a time travel romance novel mixed with paranormal and historical romance.
