Top Ten Tuesday #4

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

This week's Top Ten Tuesday is all about books to read in one day. This list is for SOME of the books that had me so enthralled that I read them in one day.

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi
I read this one in 2 hours I loved it so much! It was such an awesome read I'm really let down that I don't get to read the next one for ages.

Virgin River (Virgin River, #1)
Virgin River (Virgin River, #1) by Robyn Carr
I first read this last year and within a day I fell in love with the people of Robyn Carr's Virgin River series. I love the whole series it's so good!

One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, #1)
One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, #1) by Janet Evanovich
I devoured this book. Seriously, after years of bypassing this series I finally picked this one up in December 2010 and I've be stuck to the series since then.

Enclave (Razorland, #1)
Enclave (Razorland, #1) by Ann Aguirre
I loved this book! It was so good I was on edge the whole time I was reading it, I actually liked it more than I liked The Hunger Games.

The Clan of the Cave Bear (Earth's Children, #1)
8 years ago I discovered this series. Since then I've re-read the series so many times. I always end up reading them in a day they're just that good.

The Complete Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling always end up to be one day reads for me!

Tyger Tyger (Goblin Wars, #1)
Tyger, Tyger (Goblin Wars, #1) by Kersten Hamilton
I read this one for a buddy read in November 2011 and instantly loved the authors writing. I've always loved goblins and celtic lore so this was perfect to me.

The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency
The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency ) by Alexander McCall Smith
I loved the HBO series so much that when I had the opportunity to buy a copy of the book I jumped on it. I read it almost 2 years ago and loved it. It was such a cozy lighthearted read about a far away place that I'd love to visit one day. I'm actually going to be starting 13th book in the series next week I think.

The Bastard
The Bastard  (Alternately titled "Honor Bound") by Brenda Novak
This was one of my first NetGalley reads and I loved it. I have a soft spot for historical romance novels and this one was great! I read it on my laptop in just under 3 hours. It's a great book!

The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt
The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt by Caroline Preston
I first heard about this book after reading a review on one of my favourite blogs Bookaholic Mom.
This book was a fantastic read told in such a unique way. This is actually one of my top books of this year :)

So, which books did  YOU love so much that you read them in one day?

  6. Great list! I really want to read the Stephanie Plum books. I have most of them, but somehow I'm missing 1 and 2 so I haven't actually read the series. I need to find those somewhere. And Shatter Me and Harry Potter! TOTALLY agree. Harry Potter especially, it's so addictive.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! :)

  9. The later HP books can be 1 day reads? They seem so long. But, I never read anything fast. I've been really curious about Enclave. I'm going to have to look more into that one.

    Great list!

  11. Thanks for stopping by earlier. Love this list! Harry Potter all the way! I haven't read Enclave, but I really am dying to.

I have to say, I wasn't too thrilled with Shatter Me, but I did it audiobook style and I think I may have missed a lot that way. I'll have to try it again the old fashioned way =)

Your list is awesome - I love all the Harry Potter books and they're definitely a day read (though I think I split book 7 into 2 days!).

  15. Some great picks there! The first six or seven Stephanie Plum books are some of my favourite adult reads, although I have to admit I think they get a bit repetitive later in the series...

Mine is at YA Yeah Yeah if you'd like to check it out.

And I'm glad The Clan of the Cave Bear is on your list! I've been meaning to read it for some years now but they're kind of intimidating...

  36. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I think I only read the last Harry Potter in a day, started it at midnight (when I got home from the bookstore) and stayed up till I was finished! It was definitely worth it!

  37. I also listed Harry Potter - such a classic! :]

  38. Oooh...I totally forgot about Tyger Tyger languishing in my TBR tbqh. Need to get to that! Totally agree on Janet Evonovich, it's not even the kind of book I normally read, and yet when my sister handed me One For the Money, I totally ripped through it.

  39. Thanks for stopping by my list! I haven't read Clan of the Cave Bear yet, but I keep hearing that it's addicting once you start it. It's inspiring to see that you've reread it so many times too -- that's always an excellent sign of a good book!

  41. ROBYN CARR!!!!!!!!! I love her! I honestly can't get enough of The Virgin River series, and I'm so glad there are a million of them to keep me company. I can always count on them to bring me out of a reading slump.
