*[Blog Tour Review & Giveaway] The Bachelorette Project by Tami Anthony

The BACHELORETTE Project

Summary:
When an unfortunate twist of fate leaves 28 year-old socialite Leslee Robinson broken-hearted and unemployed, she embarks on a journey to discover what boggles every twenty-something single woman’s mind: What do men REALLY want and how do you find the perfect mate? With the help of her two best friends; Annie, a self-conscious, sarcastic single mother; and Karen, the neurotic, perfectionist ‘bridezilla,’ Leslee creates The BACHELORETTE Project, a ‘scientific’ dating experiment designed to uncover the enigma of the male species.

After multiple dates gone awry and unanticipated encounters of the extreme, Leslee decides to confide in the last person that she’d ever consider asking dating advice from: Eric, her handsome, womanizing college friend with a well-known ‘love ‘em and leave ‘em’ reputation. Aside from Eric’s infamous bachelor tactics, Leslee can’t help but to be oddly attracted to him, but will pursuing the charming, ‘bad boy’ philanderer that Eric is even be worth the risk?

With unbelievable twists and a contemporary, comedic Chick-Lit feel, The BACHELORETTE Project is the chronicle of a single woman’s journey to finding true friendship, discovering herself, and learning the enigma of love down to a science.

This book turned out to be completely different than what I thought it would be! Usually I'm not a huge fan of contemporary romance and I only read books in this genre by certain authors so I decided I really should try and branch out a bit and I'm glad that I did.

Even though this isn't my usual genre I did find this book enjoyable. For a debut novel this book was a great way to start a writing career one that I hope lasts Tami a lifetime because she really knows how to add just the right amount of comedic value into the story line without the book losing any steam.

I thought the character's development was really well thought out especially that of Leslee (I like the unique way her name is spelled). I like how her character was able to grow and she got stronger as the story went on and gained substance too. For me I'm all about woman power so the fact that Leslee gained confidence in herself and found happiness with herself I really enjoyed that.

The plot (I won't recap it) was well thought out too but there were a couple instances where I got lost and it seemed as thought the story jumped around a little bit but it was nothing to make a big fuss over. Likewise, there were times when the characters (not just that of Leslee) got on my nerves a bit but for me that added to the book's charm because it made me want to read the rest of the book even more to see if they would all stop acting out and get back to normal.

Overall it was an enjoyable contemporary romance that encompasses the usual lessons a woman should learn about love but re imagined and written in to a funny rom-com novel. I would recommend this to everyone who loves the romance genre specifically the contemporary romance genre.
