*[Blog Tour Review] Revolution (Collide #4) by Shelly Crane

Revolution (Collide, #4)

Summary:

In the fourth and final installment, everything is on the line. Merrick's life is in the balance and Lily is their only hope. Ellie and her new powers are miraculous, but also problematic; if she's with the bunker family, they won't be able to sense when the Lighters are there. There are many new members to the bunker and sparks will fly, and with the food shortage, they will all have plenty to deal with. Miguel is intrigued with Rylee, her past and her spunk. Ryan and Elli are barely scratching the surface of their relationship. Cain and Lillian will have to deal with Daniel, who has no qualms about showing his true feelings for her. And Sherry and Merrick…what will happen to this happenstance family who have worked so hard to come together? Can they all survive? Can they all withstand the new enemy that is right outside their door? Can they beat the Lighters, once and for all…

Wow, that was my immediate reaction when I finished the final installment in Shelly Crane's Collide series. You see I kind of burnt myself out by reading all 4 books withing about a 10 day stretch of time so I was a bit exhausted when I finished the series. Hopefully I'll be able to write a reasonably understandable review even though I fear it will be a bit on the shorter side. Plus since this is still such a new release and there are so many fans of this series I would hate to spoil anything for anyone so I'll focus on the writing itself.

After reading the series I'm glad that the author decided to end it after 4 books. Not that she was running out of steam mind you but because everything seemed to round itself out in the end of this one and to push it further I think would mess up how well the series came together.

I love how the characters and their respective relationships stayed pretty solid throughout the whole series so it was nice that that was very much carried through in this novel. I really came to get attached to all the characters in this series so I am really sad to think that they only way that I will see them again is if I re-read the series which I'm planning to do in the new year.

What I think I loved most about the final book in this series is the fact that there was such a fluidity to the story and I love how I didn't feel as though I was being jostled about as the author wrapped up the story line. I also really appreciated the fact that the story didn't seem rush and kept up the same adventurous pace as the 3 books preceding it. I loved the action, adventure and romance in this book.

Shelly Crane wove a fabulous story and there is absolutely no question that this was my favourite book in the series. The puzzle truly became one by the time I finished it and I couldn't be happier with where it left off. I think that the other fans of this series will be pleased with this one as well. As a person who hadn't heard of these books a couple months ago I sure am glad that I signed up for this tour. It introduced me to a new author, one with a fresh and unique voice in the world of young adult fiction and one I can't wait to read more books by.  I highly suggest giving the first book Collide (Collide #1) a try and I would like to thank Shelly for providing me with the entire series to read as well as Holly for organizing the tour. Thanks ladies!

  1. This series is new to me, and you have piqued my interest. I could never read a series back to back, no matter how tempting. I like to allow at least 3-4 weeks in between. awesome review!

    1. In hindsight I probably should have started reading this series a lot sooner so that I would have sufficient down time to read this one without the added pressure but it was an enjoyable series and I hope that if you do start it that you like it :)
