*[Blog Tour Review & Tour Wide Giveaway] Highland Persuasion (The MacLomain Series - Early Years #2) by Sky Purington

Highland Persuasion (The MacLomain Series - Early Years #2)

Summary:

Iosbail MacLomain will do whatever it takes to bring Laird Alexander Sinclair to his knees. Even if it means she has to travel through time to eleventh century Scotland and manipulate a king into marrying her off to the enemy.

What she doesn't anticipate is a bitter rivalry between King Edgar and Alexander Sinclair. It seems the man she just married is by birthright a threat to the throne. Her plans are suddenly hindered when she and her new husband are almost murdered.

Their lives on the line, Alexander and Iosbail are forced to flee across the country. Fraught with risk, adventure and wild, unexpected desire they struggle against overwhelming odds. Only on MacLomain land does justice stand a chance.

Will a true king find shelter so far from his homeland? Can a woman set out for vengeance forgive deeds done wrong?

Better yet, can enemies persuade one another to forgive and perhaps even love?

Find out in a powerful story that leaves no soul untouched... HIGHLAND PERSUASION.

A Highland romance always brightens my mood. Historical romances are always my go to genre when I want a romance fix and rarely have I been disappointed and this is a nice example of how a Highland romance should be written.

Highland Persuasion was my first read by Sky Purington and it definitely made me want to read her other books. I really enjoyed her writing style and the way that she pieced Alexander and Iosbail's romance together in a relatively short novel since it's only 180 pages.

The characters were very well written. Isobail was pretty much everything I like in a heroine. She was a strong, independent and intelligent woman who knew what she wanted and was determined to get it at all costs. Alexander was the same way. I really enjoyed how alike the two characters were beneath the surface and I loved the passion that they had for each other.

The plot was good and I was glad that it was still a fun read but actually had more substance behind the actual story than I expected and I loved that it offered more than just a sexy romp in the highlands.

Overall, there was very little that I didn't like about Highland Persuasion and it was a good, quick read that really fit my mood at the time. The characters and the story were well developed and while this is the second book in the series it can be read as a standalone novel. After reading this book I am absolutely going to get my hands on book one and I hope to enjoy it as much as I did this one and I love the sense of adventure and the romance between the two characters a lot.

I would recommend this to all the historical romance fans who love their highlanders and strong heroines. This would be a perfect beach read or a book to read outside on a sunny afternoon and would be relatively easy to polish off in one sitting.
