Quote-Tastic Monday #4

This one is simple and just about sharing your favorite quotes and the books they come from! Hosted by the FABULOUS Anna at Herding Cats & Burning Soup

I'm a huge fan of Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin so I thought I'd share one of my favourite quotes from the first book in the series:

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)

“What is honor compared to a woman's love? What is duty against the feel of a newborn son in your arms . . . or the memory of a brother's smile? Wind and words. Wind and words. We are only human, and the gods have fashioned us for love. That is our great glory, and our great tragedy.”

What is YOUR favourite bookish quote this week?

  1. Oh I like. Very powerful. I do need to read these one day. I have the set sitting on my shelves just haven't worked up to them yet. Your teasers make me want to though!

  4. That is quite a quote, powerful and so philosophical. I've never read GRRM, is that typical of his writing?
