*[Blog Tour Review] Rescued by a Stranger by Lizbeth Sevig

Rescued by a Stranger

Summary:

She’s a woman full of dreams
When a stranger arrives in town on a vintage motorcycle, Jill Carpenter has no idea her life is about to change forever. She never expected her own personal knight in shining armor would be an incredibly charming and handsome southern man—but one with a deep secret.

He’s a man hoping to outrun a tragedy
When Chase Preston jumped on his motorcycle to escape his wounded life, he didn't expect the perfect woman to fall into his arms... literally! But though he can't deny his feelings for the sweet and beautiful Jill, he doesn't see any way he and his mistake-filled past will fit into her bright future.

Falling in love may require more than either can give
The longer Chase stays in Kennison Falls, the more deeply Jill and the people of her home town pull him in. The more Jill discovers heroic qualities in Chase, the more she wants to find a home in his arms—if only he would trust her with the truth. But will truth tear them apart when Jill’s dreams start coming true and Chase’s past finally returns to haunt him? Or, can they get beyond dreams to find the love that will rescue their two hearts?

Rescued by a Stranger was my first read by Lizbeth Selvig, and I thought it was a really good way to start off with a new author. I'm not a huge contemporary romance fan but I every once in awhile I come across one that I like enough to add the authors other books to my shelves.

I liked Chase and Jill, I thought they were a good couple and I liked the chemistry that built up between the two of them and since I'm a huge fan of rescuer heroes this one was a departure from my normal reads and I liked it.

Jill was a really likable character, she was sweet, kind, loving and everything Chase was terrified of because of things in his past. I was surprised by how much I liked her because at first she gave the impression of being an inspid, whisp of a young woman but she had an old soul but at the same time she was fun loving and I like how she was devoted to the people and things she cared about.

Chase was a little harder to figure out but I liked seeing him grow as a character and become more comfortable with things as time passed. His devotion to Jill was what really endeared him too me and won me over.

I liked the overall plot of the story as well but occasionally I thought the book got a wee bit bogged down with some details that I could have done without and the whole relationship between Jill and Chase while it seemed slow burning actually turned into a really quick inferno which was good and I absolutely loved how horses and riding were an integral part of the story since Jill is a veterinarian student. I liked how the author included something that may or may not have been over looked by other writers to make the story come alive.

Overall, I really liked Rescued by a Stranger. It was a fun departure from my usual paranormal, and historical romance reads and I'm glad I signed up for this book's blog tour since it was written by an author I might not have come across otherwise. Since I enjoyed this one so much I'm hoping my library gets her other books in the system.

I would recommend Rescued by a Stranger to fans of contemporary romances stories that want their characters and their stories well developed with lots of feel good moments to balance out the parts that make you want to shove the main characters together and tell them to get it over with already!

  1. Hi Kimberly,
Thank you so much for hosting me this morning and for the wonderful review. I'm so glad you enjoyed the story. And, if you tell me what library system you use we can request that they find other books--I have a husband who's a great library chaser. Thanks again!
