One of the best things about being a book blogger is that I love the simple act of discovery that comes with the territory. I'm introduced to an even wider range of books and authors and I love finding new characters like Tess Tremaine to connect with.

I loved Tess and the quaint little town of Goose Pimple Junction from the get go. It's a small town full of people with big hearts and even bigger personalities and I loved the down south cozy atmosphere that lends itself to the telling of this cozy mystery.

Tess, herself is just adorable. I think she's a hoot and she gets up to her fair share of shenanigans and left me laughing with her antics. I liked her outlook on life, she had a rough marriage but she's moved on and is trying to write the romance novel she's been working on and ends up finding a delightful new life in a new town, and becomes an amateur sleuth too so she has her hands full alright.

However, Tess wasn't just the only great character. Oh no, the book was full of them but my favourite would have to be Jackson. He's Tess's love interest and I loved him as a character in his own right as well as how he was in a couple situation with Tess. The romance between the two was great and I loved that Tess found her happiness again.

The story was a good one. When Tess rolls into town she ends up digging up things from 75 years in the past and thus brings in the mystery element. I'm trying not to give out many spoilers so I won't say much more except that the story is told in alternating timelines so it was told in present day and 75 years past. I love stories told this way so it worked out perfectly for me and I loved the ending even though it wasn't what I expected.

With great characters, a wonderful setting, excellent plot devices and an awesome voice in the Cozy Mystery genre and this is a series I'm going to be sure to follow. I would recommend this book to any and all fans of the cozy mystery genre who want a book to make them laugh.
