Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
This week's Top Ten Tuesday is all about books to read in one day. This list is for SOME of the books that had me so enthralled that I read them in one day.
Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi
I read this one in 2 hours I loved it so much! It was such an awesome read I'm really let down that I don't get to read the next one for ages.
I first read this last year and within a day I fell in love with the people of Robyn Carr's Virgin River series. I love the whole series it's so good!
One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, #1) by Janet Evanovich
I devoured this book. Seriously, after years of bypassing this series I finally picked this one up in December 2010 and I've be stuck to the series since then.
Enclave (Razorland, #1) by Ann Aguirre
I loved this book! It was so good I was on edge the whole time I was reading it, I actually liked it more than I liked The Hunger Games.
The Clan of the Cave Bear (Earth's Children, #1)
8 years ago I discovered this series. Since then I've re-read the series so many times. I always end up reading them in a day they're just that good.
The Complete Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling always end up to be one day reads for me!
Tyger, Tyger (Goblin Wars, #1) by Kersten Hamilton
I read this one for a buddy read in November 2011 and instantly loved the authors writing. I've always loved goblins and celtic lore so this was perfect to me.
The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency ) by Alexander McCall Smith
I loved the HBO series so much that when I had the opportunity to buy a copy of the book I jumped on it. I read it almost 2 years ago and loved it. It was such a cozy lighthearted read about a far away place that I'd love to visit one day. I'm actually going to be starting 13th book in the series next week I think.
The Bastard (Alternately titled "Honor Bound") by Brenda Novak
This was one of my first NetGalley reads and I loved it. I have a soft spot for historical romance novels and this one was great! I read it on my laptop in just under 3 hours. It's a great book!
The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt by Caroline Preston
I first heard about this book after reading a review on one of my favourite blogs Bookaholic Mom.
This book was a fantastic read told in such a unique way. This is actually one of my top books of this year :)
So, which books did YOU love so much that you read them in one day?
Leave me your links!
Those are great picks. I have read a few and some are on my TBR List!

Shatter Me was such a great book. I'm sad that the next one won't come out until 2013.

ReplyDeleteThat would be a lot of Harry Potter for one day! My list: http://bookishlyboisterous.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteI read One for the Money in one day too! I've only read the first two (I have the next three on my bookcase waiting for me!).
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the film? Is it as good as the books?
No I haven't seen it yet but I'm hoping to see it when it's released on DVD. I'm on book 17 of the Plum series right now :)
DeleteGreat list! I really want to read the Stephanie Plum books. I have most of them, but somehow I'm missing 1 and 2 so I haven't actually read the series. I need to find those somewhere. And Shatter Me and Harry Potter! TOTALLY agree. Harry Potter especially, it's so addictive.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by my blog! :)

Totally agree on Shatter Me. One of the most awesome dystopian reads that I've read. Awesome list=D
ReplyDeleteThx for dropping by :)
I haven't yet read Shatter Me or Enclave. But I would like to check out Enclave- even more so now :)
ReplyDeleteThe later HP books can be 1 day reads? They seem so long. But, I never read anything fast. I've been really curious about Enclave. I'm going to have to look more into that one.
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
Hi there, just popping in... I had a look at 'The Bastard' the other day and thought ooh good read.
ReplyDelete:) Here is my choice...
Top Ten Tuesday
Thanks for stopping by earlier. Love this list! Harry Potter all the way! I haven't read Enclave, but I really am dying to.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I wasn't too thrilled with Shatter Me, but I did it audiobook style and I think I may have missed a lot that way. I'll have to try it again the old fashioned way =)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. :)
ReplyDeleteYour list is awesome - I love all the Harry Potter books and they're definitely a day read (though I think I split book 7 into 2 days!).
Ree @ Literary Obsession
Nice picks! I haven't read some of these, but it's great to see you feature the Harry Potter books. Who could sleep when those books were involved?!

Some great picks there! The first six or seven Stephanie Plum books are some of my favourite adult reads, although I have to admit I think they get a bit repetitive later in the series...
ReplyDeleteMine is at YA Yeah Yeah if you'd like to check it out.
Great call on the #1 Ladies Detective Agency! I love all of those novels, they've all been read-in-a-day books for me
ReplyDeleteGreat picks! I can't wait to finally get round to Shatter Me and to Enclave - they're both brilliant from what I've heard! And HP is pretty much a given for me, haha!
ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten
Oh! Enclave is a great choice. I read that in one day too. I forgot to include HP on my list. What's wrong with me!? ;)
ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten Tuesday
'Enclave' and 'The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt' have been on my wishlist for aggggges! Both look brilliant- I don't think Enclave has come out in paperback yet but when it does I will be on it!

I haven't read any of those. I don't know how you can read the Harry Potter books in one day, they're so long!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
Amber @ Fall Into Books
You know I started the No. ladies Detective Agency and just couldn't get into it. I have Shatter Me so I'm
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear I can just pick a day and go
For it! :)
Ooh, One for the Money is a great pick!
ReplyDeleteNew follower :)
I really, REALLY can't believe I didn't add the Harry Potter books! Seriously, anytime I re-read them it takes only a couple of hours because I'm so captivated by the storytelling!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad The Clan of the Cave Bear is on your list! I've been meaning to read it for some years now but they're kind of intimidating...
Wow! I've read half of the ones on your list. And the ones I have, I also read in one day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog.

Taking It One Page at a time
Wow, what a great list! There's several that are on my TBR list including Shatter Me and Tyger, Tyger. From what I've heard about Shatter Me I might need some pausing time, just in case. Thank you for sharing and for stopping by! :)
ReplyDeleteOne for the money! I have that, just have not read. As well as Enclave! Great picks this week!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!
Great diversity in your list! HP is always a fabulous one-day read. Really enjoyed Shatter Me as well. Need to read Enclave and One for the Money soon.

Michele | Top 10
Loving the list- I'm looking for a book to top The Hunger Games, so Enclave's going straight on my TBR list. Oh gosh, I left Harry Potter off my list. DX Oh well, there's always next time, right?

Interesting list. I've been on the fence about Tyger, Tyger, so I'm glad it made your list. I'll have to be intentional about reading it soon.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I've been seeing Shatter Me in a number of posts today...
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog earlier today =)
I need to read Shatter Me - so many people have mentioned it today! And someone I work with recently recommended The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency to me so I need to check that out, too.
ReplyDeleteOne for the Money is on my reading list for April. Really excited to hear it's a fun and quick read!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stoppin' by!
Jennifer @ A Librarian's Library
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I think I only read the last Harry Potter in a day, started it at midnight (when I got home from the bookstore) and stayed up till I was finished! It was definitely worth it!
ReplyDeleteI also listed Harry Potter - such a classic! :]
ReplyDeleteOooh...I totally forgot about Tyger Tyger languishing in my TBR tbqh. Need to get to that! Totally agree on Janet Evonovich, it's not even the kind of book I normally read, and yet when my sister handed me One For the Money, I totally ripped through it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my list! I haven't read Clan of the Cave Bear yet, but I keep hearing that it's addicting once you start it. It's inspiring to see that you've reread it so many times too -- that's always an excellent sign of a good book!
ReplyDeleteOoh, great list. Still have to read quite a few of those.
ReplyDeleteROBYN CARR!!!!!!!!! I love her! I honestly can't get enough of The Virgin River series, and I'm so glad there are a million of them to keep me company. I can always count on them to bring me out of a reading slump.
