Alfie (Above) Enjoy's reading with me.
Peeper (had her left eye scooped out) is a rescue hamster just like Alfie. She snuggles in my clothes while I read.
And this is Cloud my tom cat with Alfie (My cats have been raised with hamsters)

DeleteOh my gosh. The cute. It's ridiculous! <3 the herd babes.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anna!
DeleteAw, your hamsters are adorable! We've had a few that were beloved family members, but I had no idea there was such a thing as rescue hamsters! Do you let them run around loose like that? We were always afraid they would scamper deep into the recesses of a couch or other tight spot & we would never find them again! Anyway, yours are very cute - thanks for sharing!

Book By Book
Most humane societies and shelters have a small animal rescue section so I highly recommend adopting over shopping. These two came from a high kill shelter in Quebec (one province over from me in Ontario) and the brown one (Peeper) was actually a stray. Mine pretty much have free reign over the couch and floor in their play pens. I stop them from getting in the cushions easier said than done but even if they got in there they'd pop out of the bottom as I removed the covering underneath the couch. Mine are much more content to snuggle in my shirt or on my shoulders.
