Teaser Tuesday #69

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Serena

Summary:

The year is 1929, and newlyweds George and Serena Pemberton travel from Boston to the North Carolina mountains where they plan to create a timber empire. Although George has already lived in the camp long enough to father an illegitimate child, Serena is new to the mountains—but she soon shows herself to be the equal of any man, overseeing crews, hunting rattle-snakes, even saving her husband's life in the wilderness. Together this lord and lady of the woodlands ruthlessly kill or vanquish all who fall out of favor. Yet when Serena learns that she will never bear a child, she sets out to murder the son George fathered without her. Mother and child begin a struggle for their lives, and when Serena suspects George is protecting his illegitimate family, the Pembertons' intense, passionate marriage starts to unravel as the story moves toward its shocking reckoning.

Rash's masterful balance of violence and beauty yields a riveting novel that, at its core, tells of love both honored and betrayed.

You're name, e-mail address, and snail mail address and blog URL, Twitter URL, and if you have it your blog's Facebook URL.

How Many Cards do you send out?

Since I'm late getting this post up (it's been a craptastic month of bad news here) I'm not expecting a huge crowd of people but I'm thinking people will need to be willing to send out at most 10 cards but you have to be willing to send cards out internationally this is mandatory  so if you don't want to spend the extra 30 to 80 cents per card to send out to a couple of international people please DON'T SIGN UP.

What's going to happen:

On December 5th  I'll e-mail you with your list of people you'll be sending your cards to so make sure you add me (Kimberly) to your e-mail contacts list so my e-mails go straight to your inbox.
IF YOU SIGN UP AND I DON'T E-MAIL YOU, E-MAIL ME AND LET ME KNOW YOU'RE MISSING YOUR INFO!

You can send X-mas post cards as well and if you have the time/money you can add a little something to the card as well (Extra stuff in the envelope isn't a requirement).
Please send your cards out before December 11th as the postal services get really busy.

If you have a problem and cannot get your cards out by December 11th e-mail me and I'll tell everyone you'll be a little late. Since it's such a busy time of year I advise putting the cut off date for sign ups December 4th as well as the Mailing cut off date December 11th on your calenders (I will send 2 reminders out about mailing the cards off.  One on December 8th and one on December 10th)
