I haven't read this one yet but I am determined to finally get to it next month. I'm a big fan of Charlie Hunnam (Percy Fawcett) and I am always up for a grand old tale of adventure in books or film.

Feature & Follow #32

This week's question is:

For me it would be Outlander, I would say the whole series (at least up until where I am in book 4) but I'm trying to stick as close to the book thing and not venture off into listing an entire series. I picked this one because...well I was assuming that if I could live in it on repeat I could just give Claire the boot I do love her but c'mon! I want Jamie for myself.

There's a ton going on in this first book in the series and everytime I re-read it (7 times now) I find something new that I missed before. There's so much action *cough*, adventure and a lot of love in it and I've always loved the idea of living in Scotland in times gone by.

This one had been sitting on my bookcase for years and I went through a big reading slump in the summer and this is what got me out of it. The story of wolves and a feral child set in a land wear magic is looked on with fear? How could I not love this? The writing and story were so intense and beautifully written I read the second book just as quick. Now I have to read the rest of the series. I'd recommend this to all fans of fantasy. It's 16 years old but very awesome.

I don't know why this one was such a miss for me. I loved the artwork and I'm usually such a sucker for fantasy especially epic fantasy told in comic form. This one's story just didn't work for me, I found it to be jumbled and chaotic and not in the fun way of not knowing what was going to happen next I was lost from the get go. Can't win 'em all but this one definitely wasn't for me and isn't one I can say I would recommend.

What protagonist is most like you?

I like to think that I'm most like Anita Blake from Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series.... Cool with the violence, a mean temper and a wacky sense of humour. I'm not petite like her at all (5'10) but our attitudes on a lot of things are very similar. She's one of my favourite characters, strong, smart and braver than people would give her credit for.

I loved this book when I read it a few years back and AMC is actually working on a television series based on The Terror. As much as I love holiday reads, cozy little romances in winter wonderlands, this novel is the one that stands out for me as the one with the best winter world. I mean it's an adventure/horror novel set in the Arctic!

THE QUESTION THIS WEEK IS: WHAT ARE YOU MOST THANKFUL FOR (IN THE BLOGGING COMMUNITY)?

I'm most thankful for the strong welcome back after my two year hiatus. December 7th 2014 my mom died very suddenly and I gave up on the blog. I couldn't read, I couldn't write and I wanted to delete Turning the Pages but I didn't. I did try to come back a couple times, but I wasn't ready and I only managed to post a few times but then I'd just stop. When I logged on to the blog on a whim on November 9th something just felt right. I was ready to come back and get blogging again. I didn't think about it I just did it. I like to think my mum gave me a push to start again, almost as if she thought I'd wallowed long enough and had to get living again. I love how loving this community is and how much support and awesome messages welcoming me back I've gotten. I feel thankful for you my wonderful readers, authors and fellow bloggers because you made me feel like I came home when I started back up again and I want to say thank you.

What is the craziest thing you’d be willing to do for an ARC you are dying to read?

Probably make a complete and utter fool of my self begging for a copy and posting it to Youtube, and then probably sharing it on my Facebook so all my friends could see my desperation.
