I loved the author's other novel Sound of the Heart so I was really upset that when I was so sick I had to return the book to the library before I had the chance to finish it. I'm determined to read it this summer.

Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood #10) by J.R. Ward

I won this one last month from Kat over at The Aussie Zombie Blog and I'm slowly reading the book before this one Lover Unleashed in between my other book commitments this week.

Of Poseidon (Of Poseidon #1) by Anna Banks

I got this one from NetGalley a couple months back and haven't read it yet but I hope I can get to it this summer as I've heard really good things about it.

Sweet Evil (The Sweet Trilogy #1) by Wendy Higgins

I had this gifted to me last month and I'm really hoping to fit it in.

When Lightning Strikes (Whiskey Creek Series #1) By Brenda Novak

I just got this one from NetGalley and I hope I like it as much as the other book that I've read by this author.

Atlantis Awakening (Warriors of Poseidon #2) by Alyssa Day

I loved the first book in the series so much I can't wait to find out what happens next.

I love this series and I'm itching to read this one and the one after it this summer.

Good Morning Everyone!

I know it's been a few weeks since I wrote an edition of The Sunday Post but believe me I have good reasons since I was really, really under the weather and it was only this past week that my homecare nurse discharged me and set me free!

Anyways, I know my reviews have been lacking lately but I PROMISE I'm going to get caught up with them. Last month was crazy and I barely read anything and this month looks like it won't be a very good month for reading either but I have 2 weeks left to get as much reading done as possible.

The good news is I'm hosting a blog tour stop for the book Speculation by Edmund Jorgensen which I'm really excited about because Pragya over at Reviewing Shelf reviewed it and loved it Click Here to read it!

I finally did it.
I read a Sarah Addison Allen novel back in April after years of avoiding the author for fear her stuff would not be to my liking for the simple fact that everyone seems to love her. To be honest the only reason I read it was because it was a buddy read in my Goodreads group.

When I was reading it it too me a little while to get into because for me the book started off really slowly and it wan't until around page 60 that I really started to get into it and once I did I finished it pretty quickly.

What I liked about it was that it was a light read and at under 300 pages it was relatively short. I can understand why her writing appeals to so many people there is no doubt that she has a talent for the written word. I'd have to say my favourite character was not Emily but the 34 year old Julia who runs a diner in Mullaby. For me she was the star of the novel. I really felt a much stronger connection to her than I did to Emily who I found really annoying for some reason.

I truly enjoyed the simplicity of the novel and how sweet and laid back the author was in writing it but I just wish it had more...it just felt to me as though it was missing something. A few times while reading the novel it seemed to start and go a bit but that could just be me because this is my first time reading the authors stuff.

All in all I enjoyed the book it had just enough of that southern comfort to make it appealing to readers young and old and I think no matter what your tastes in books are chances are you'll walk away after reading this book feeling pretty good. It's just one of those novels that lifts your spirits and makes you feel good so I recommend this one to everyone. I especially think that it would be a great mother daughter read. I will absolutely be checking out more of this authors books in the future.
