Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Since today we could choose a freebie pick for our Top Ten Tuesday Posts I went with:
Top 10 Books I DIDN'T Expect to Like So Much:
Some of the books were out of my comfort zone. Some were sci-fi, others were non-fiction, dealt with hard issues or were just plain long. I didn't expect to love any of these as much as I did but I honestly can't stop recommending these ones.
Oooh Forbidden looks interesting. I loved the Outlander series too. Great list.
ReplyDeleteI feel like every monday night you remind me to read outlander and then the next we I have done nothing. Off to put it on hold at the library site!

I really enjoyed Born Free, the others you have listed I haven't read yet, some I haven't heard of until now.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my TTT.
I've heard such good things about OUTLANDER!
ReplyDeleteWow, great list! I might have to try Outlander now (and one day Forbidden). Guilty Pleasures is awesome, it's a shame that the series has deteriorated into erotic fiction and the story lines have gone to mush - I miss the old Anita Blake! Gosh, Born Free I had completely forgotten about this title! So good, lol. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe only book on your list that I've read is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It's been years since I read it, but I did like it at the time. I wonder what I would think of it now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Great list. I keep hearing such wonderful things about Outlander! I'm going to have to pick it up!
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!

Thanks for your list! I had the same reaction to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I thought it looked geeky, but it totally pulled me in. I love when that happens.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read most of these, and the one time I tried The Hitchhiker's Guide, I couldn't get into it. (I was probably just in the wrong mood; someday I'll try again.) I absolutely loved Born Free as a child, though -- I read it at least three times.
