Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine and is where we can talk about books we are looking forward to being released.
Summary:
J.R. Ward's # 1 New York Times bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood continues as a royal bloodline is compromised by a grave threat to the throne.
Long live the King…
After turning his back on the throne for centuries, Wrath, son of Wrath, finally assumed his father’s mantle--with the help of his beloved mate. But the crown sets heavily on his head. As the war with the Lessening Society rages on, and the threat from the Band of Bastards truly hits home, he is forced to make choices that put everything--and everyone--at risk.
Beth Randall thought she knew what she was getting into when she mated the last pure blooded vampire on the planet: An easy ride was not it. But when she decides she wants a child, she’s unprepared for Wrath’s response--or the distance it creates between them.
The question is, will true love win out... or tortured legacy take over?

Why I'm Waiting:
I adore this series and unlike a lot of other readers of the series I love the parts that are about the Lessers as well as the political climate of the series as well and I can't wait to see where Ward is going to take us with this one. Plus hey, it's Wrath and Beth! I love those two together and Wrath is AWESOME.
Summary:
#1 New York Times bestselling author Patricia Briggs’s Mercy Thompson series has been hailed as “one of the best” (Fiction Vixen). Now, Mercy must deal with an unwanted guest—one that brings a threat unlike anything she’s ever known.
An unexpected phone call heralds a new challenge for Mercy. Her mate Adam’s ex-wife is in trouble, on the run from her new boyfriend. Adam isn’t the kind of man to turn away a person in need—and Mercy knows it. But with Christy holed up in Adam’s house, Mercy can’t shake the feeling that something about the situation isn’t right.
Soon, her suspicions are confirmed when she learns that Christy has the farthest thing from good intentions. She wants Adam back and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen, including turning Adam’s pack against Mercy.
Mercy isn’t about to step down without a fight, but there’s a more dangerous threat circling. Christy’s ex is more than a bad man—in fact, he may not be human at all. As the bodies start piling up, Mercy must put her personal troubles aside to face a creature with the power to tear her whole world apart.

Me too!
DeleteI am so excited for both your picks!!! Can't wait to see what happens next for both the BDB, and Mercy. Great picks.
ReplyDeleteMe neither, I have a feeling that both of these books will be game changers in terms of their series over all.
DeleteI only read book one of the BDB series, but I was 13 at that time and it was too adult for me. I'd love to give the series another chance though, maybe when I'm older. Great picks!
ReplyDeleteChel @ The Procrastinator's Corner
I can see how they'd be a littlee adult for a 13 year old (though I was devouring books like them at that age lol) I definitely think you should give them another try. Read them in order though :)
DeleteAnother book about Wrath, yes! I am so so very excited for his book! Great pick!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my Wow picks!

DeleteTwo great picks but I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy of The King! I absolutely adore the BDB series and every time a new book comes out I always try to take my time reading, doesn't work as I sit reading until I'm finished! I expect I'll do that with this one :) March seems like a very long time to wait...
ReplyDeleteMy WoW!

DeleteI absolutely can't wait for The King! Go Wrath . And Xcore? I wonder if he is bad to the core ? It would be quite the novel twist for him to hook up with Layla
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it? I keep thinking that it just might happen with the two of them. :)
